Machine Data Policy
Your vibration trends, temperatures, run-hours and maintenance history describe how your plant runs. This policy sets out how Schafte treats that data.
What machine data means
- Sensor readings: vibration, temperature, current, pressure and run-hours.
- PLC, SCADA and energy meter tags that you choose to connect.
- Asset records, drawings, manuals, work orders, spares and downtime records.
Ownership
Machine data belongs to your company. We process it only to provide the service to you.
Read-only collection
Gateways and connectors read data and never send commands to machines, PLCs or drives. PLC connections are set up with read-only access wherever the controller supports it.
How the AI uses it
- Each machine's model is trained on that machine's own readings and job outcomes.
- General fault patterns, such as bearing wear signatures, are built from anonymised and aggregated data in which no customer, plant or machine can be identified.
- You can opt out of contributing to aggregated patterns from account settings. Predictions for your own machines keep working.
Never sold
We never sell machine data, and we never share it with your competitors, suppliers or equipment makers without your written permission.
Security
- Encryption in transit between sensors, gateways and the cloud, and at rest in storage.
- Role-based access, so a technician sees only the plants and areas assigned to them.
- Audit log of sign-ins, exports and setting changes.
Retention and export
Raw readings are kept for the retention period of your plan: 3 years on Pinion, 5 years on Spur Gear and 10 years on Bull Gear. You can export readings and records in CSV or XLSX at any time.
