Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of the Schafte website, the Schafte web and mobile apps, and any sensors or gateways supplied with the service.
1. The service
Schafte provides software for asset records, sensor monitoring, failure prediction, work orders, preventive maintenance, spare parts and downtime reporting. Features depend on the plan you choose.
2. Accounts
- You must give accurate details when you sign up.
- You are responsible for the users you invite and for keeping login credentials private.
- Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been accessed without permission.
3. Free trial
The free trial covers up to 5 machines for 60 days. At the end of the trial you may choose a paid plan. If you do not, the account becomes read-only and rented sensors are collected.
4. Advisory nature of predictions
Predictions from the AI Failure Predictor are estimates with a stated confidence level. They are advice to support the judgement of qualified maintenance engineers, not instructions. Decisions to run, stop, repair or replace any machine remain yours.
5. Read-only connection
Schafte reads data from sensors, PLCs and meters. It does not start, stop or control machines. You must not configure Schafte or its hardware to write to machine controls.
6. Plant safety
Lockout-tagout steps and safety checklists in work orders are defined by your plant. Compliance with safety laws, permits and procedures remains your responsibility.
7. Fees and billing
- Plans are priced per machine per month in US dollars, billed monthly or yearly in advance.
- Sensors and gateways are sold or rented separately. Rented hardware remains our property.
- Taxes are added where applicable.
- Unpaid invoices more than 30 days overdue may lead to suspension after written notice.
8. Your data
You own your machine data and records. You give us permission to process them only to provide and improve the service for you. We do not sell your data. Details are in the Machine Data Policy.
9. Acceptable use
You must not attempt to break the security of the service, reverse engineer it, overload it, or use it to store unlawful content.
10. Availability
We aim for 99.5% monthly availability of the cloud service, excluding announced maintenance. Sensor gateways buffer readings during network outages so data is not lost.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid for the service in that period. We are not liable for lost production, lost profit or indirect losses, including losses from a machine failure that was or was not predicted.
12. Ending the agreement
You may cancel at the end of any billing period. We may end the agreement for serious breach after notice. On ending, you can export your data for 30 days.
13. Changes
We will give at least 30 days' notice by email of any material change to these terms.
